Mixology North 2019 winners!

We are delighted to share our success at the Mixology North Awards 2019 winning not one, but two awards!

Our recent work with HMRC on their Estate Transformation at Benton Park View was awarded Public Sector Interiors Project of the Year and, alongside Ryder Architecture, Tombola House was presented with Medium Commercial Interiors Project of the Year.

New executive lounge landing at Newcastle International Airport

The new executive lounge at Newcastle International Airport is set to open its doors to passengers in Summer 2020.  Our design team are delighted to be involved in the development and our expertise in high end hospitality and workplace design was a key factor for the airport when commissioning us.

The new lounge has been designed to be a comfortable yet luxurious communal space, providing a sense of calm amidst the stresses of travelling.  Our design approach focuses on creating a flexible environment to meet the needs of a variety of travellers, whether travelling for business or leisure. The lounge will be for some, a place to relax or socialise, and to others a place to focus on work – the new lounge will cater for everyone’s needs and be a stunning place to enjoy.

Show home success for Chapter Homes

In December, Chapter Homes completed their second residential development at Oakerside Drive in Peterlee, seeing the construction of 67 new 2,3 and 4-bedroom homes. Working closely with Chapter Homes, our role was to design a 3-bedroom show home and the marketing suite. The brief was to provide a show home with the wow factor following the latest trends.

The marketing suite provides customers with their first impression of Chapter Homes and is the main point of sale for the properties, as well as displaying samples and the optional extras available to customise their home.  The design provides the marketing suite with the look and feel of a coffee bar, providing a relaxing and enjoyable setting for customers to spend time.

New offices for Made for Trade

Interior design and project management for Made for Trade, a North East design and manufacturing company. With increasing staff numbers and a growing business, Made for Trade required a larger facility to call their home. Our role was to help develop Wellington House, a large disused factory and 2,000m2 office unit on Wynyard Business Park.

We transformed the tired, dark and dated interior into a light, open and contemporary space. The new facility comprises a large open plan office space, a variety of meeting areas, an exhibition demo room, a spacious canteen and a staff gym.

Finished with a simple yet bold colour palette, as well as individually selected furniture and fixtures, the space offers a clean canvas as a background to the daily business activity. Exposed brick and heritage style glass panels bring an industrial feel to the interior with feature lighting in key areas adding touches of warmth.

Ryder Alliance exchange

Ward Robinson and Concept i Design

In September, our second Ward Robinson staff exchange took place with one of the newest Ryder Alliance partners, Bangkok based design practice, Concept i Design.

One of our interior designers, Sarah Jamieson, joined the Concept i office in Bangkok, whilst we welcomed Bank Kosolkitiwong to our Newcastle interior design team for a 3 months exchange.

Both designers have been given the unique opportunity to broaden their skills and experiences by working on a variety of live projects whilst embracing a new country and culture.
