Designing for Puerto Rico

Our design team are excited to begin work on our latest hospitality commission, a restaurant set within an exclusive residential development in Puerto Rico. We are developing the concept design which will deliver an indoor/outdoor eatery compromising a dining room, bar, terrace and private dining spaces.

The scheme is a contemporary farmhouse design with a calm, relaxing atmosphere which can effortlessly transition to evening dining.  A major part of the Puerto Rican culture involves dining at each other’s homes, so we want to create a casual ‘home from home’ ambiance to mirror this.

India Buildings set for a grand reopening

Since our last update earlier in the year, works on site at the new Regional Centre for HMRC in the heart of Liverpool have progressed at speed with a number of floors in India Buildings having now completed, ready for full occupation by the end of July.

The brief was to convert a faded, Grade II* listed building into a modern, agile workspace that achieves the same performance standards as a newly built office block. Dating back to 1926, India Buildings is one of Liverpool’s most historic buildings.

We have worked closely with HMRC for over 20 years and have designed and delivered several schemes in that time.  But this project is like no other.  The scheme unites the old and the new, with the modern, sleek office design seamlessly interweaving around the numerous, stunning heritage features of the 28,000m2 , 11 storey building.

The new Regional Centre offers a variety of facilities from meeting rooms and collaboration zones to independent working areas and event spaces.

Net zero carbon
A new standard for sustainable development

Our project management team have been appointed by Muse Developments to project manage the design and construction of The Glassworks at Harton Quay in South Shields.

South Tyneside Council’s planning committee gave approval for the development to go ahead in May. The Glassworks is a unique 50,000 sqft office building which will set a new standard for sustainable development in the region.

The Glassworks, designed by Ryder Architecture, is set to achieve the UK Green Building Council’s 2025 net zero office energy performance target – a first for the North East – BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and WiredScore Platinum certification for digital connectivity.

The team are looking forward to the start of construction later this year.

Transformation for The Fairstone Group

Fairstone commissioned our design team to help transform their way of working by adopting a new agile work environment across a number of their regional hubs.

Our team first collaborated with the Fairstone Group last year on the redesign of their existing office in Lancashire. Since then, the scheme has formed the foundations for their national hub roll out.

Their East Midlands hub in Leicester is the latest site to have completed earlier this year. Their new workspace offers a large open plan office with a diverse business lounge which provides a variety of settings for agile working, colleague collaboration and client meetings.

Our design team are continuing to work with the Fairstone Group delivering this scheme across new and existing hubs throughout the country including the North East, Glasgow, and London.

Proud partner of NGI

We are delighted to share we are now officially a partner organisation with the Newcastle Gateshead Initiative (NGI).

Both our project management and interior design teams are starting off our new partnership by working closely with NGI on the design and delivery of their new office at one of Newcastle’s most significant historical buildings. Formerly Neville Hall, the building has now reopened as ‘The Common Room’ following an extensive renovation stretching over the past 2 years.

Ward Robinson helped NGI with their move, some 10 years ago, to offices in The Baltic – it’s great to be teaming up with them once more in another of Newcastle’s most iconic buildings.
